THE HOME LAB
February Edition
A monthly membership for your home space and your head space
The Home Lab is about steady, manageable progress in our homes Together we work on our homes in a way that supports our energy, emotions, and day-to-day lives.
Winter is a time for small and supportive shifts at home.
Winter can be heavy. Energy is lower, motivation comes and goes, and big home projects can feel unrealistic.
This month, we’re focusing on continued progress and small but impactful changes that help our daily lives.
Home Lab is a low-pressure, supportive space to experiment, share, and make progress at your own pace. Come as you are- tired, curious, motivated, or unsure!
You're invited to The Home Lab!

THE WORKSHOP
AI at Home: Help or Hype?
A human-centered look at how (and if) AI fits into our homes and daily lives.
This workshop is a curiosity-driven conversation about AI at home. We will be joined by Andrew Piper, an AI expert who also happens to be my husband!
Together, we’ll explore common fears, concerns, and questions about AI, unpack popular myths, and talk honestly about its limitations. We’ll also look at how AI is actually being used in daily home life and where it can help and where it falls short.
Don't worry! This is not a tech tutorial. It’s an inclusive conversation with some expert feedback, where your questions and concerns will be front and center.
This conversation runs the full spectrum. It’s for people who are already using AI and want to compare notes, for those who are curious but haven’t tried it yet, and for those who feel uneasy or unconvinced about its place in our lives.
About my husband: Andrew is a professor at McGill University and the director of .txtlab, where he studies the connections between AI and storytelling. His new book, Why You Should Read More Fiction, comes out this year! When he’s not teaching or writing, Andrew is usually talking to AI, much to his family's bemusement.

This was just what I needed to kick off a New Year! It's hard to stick to resolutions, and the accountability, motivation, and camaraderie of the weekly sessions really kept me on track. The feedback that the group offered each other was not only helpful, but also a heartening reminder that none of us are alone in the long journey of organization. Throughout it all, Tinka offered thoughtful wisdom and good humor. 10/10 would recommend!

Instead of continuing to carry the shame that has been a key part of what is blocking me from taking action, I felt connected, broke through the self-talk that I am a hopeless case, and realized that this is work I can do out of love for myself. That emotional work paired with the clear, actionable steps laid out by you, Tinka, was a powerful combo that has finally helped move me forward on my quest to de-clutter my home and my life.

My goal was fine-tuning my physical space but I left with a profound appreciation for my own journey. I was so moved by everyones' stories and Tinka’s sensitivity to the complex emotions hiding in the clutter of our lives. I finished the program with a better sense of discernment about when to declutter and when to embrace the messiness of my life.
Thank you from the bottom of my beautifully cluttered heart!
